Annoying Devil

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
OK, this is the funniest damn thing I have seen in AGES. I love the Brits!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUb84k4KBMM

There is a bunch of funny shit from this show, but this is just too damn good.

I am home sick from both work and school and needed entertainment for my day. I recommend if you need a laugh!!

Mother F*cker

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I am in a horrible mood. I'm sick with some sort of stomach ailment that I can't nail down. I have a 10 page paper due tomorrow and I can barely focus on it even though I took a half day off to work on it today and at the moment all I want to do is go to bed.

I'm confused and pissed off and really really in need of a drink that I probably should NOT have because it will make everything worse.

I have things that need to be said that I can't say.

Grrrrrrrr.

March 4th, 2008

It isn't like I don't have things I could write about, but after getting tracked down on MySpace with a guy I seriously didn't need to see again, I've been hesitant to commit anything to the internet that I don't want others to see.

Things have been good, which at the moment means busy so that I stay focused on school and distracted from other life issues. Finance seems to be going well, and I have two more weeks of it, then I start into something else which I'll finish up at the end of April. I don't think I'll have any more than about a week break between classes, and even then I'm going to have to start working on the next classes first assignment during the break periods.

Tonight will be editing the team paper and working on finishing up posts for my class, tomorrow will be with the girls watching the season finale of Project Runway and Thursday is date night as I won't be able to see the gentleman this weekend with his work schedule.

Mom and Dad are heading to California to spend time with my aunt and uncle for a week and Kristen just got back from London. I think my family has been able to do more traveling than me over the last few months and I am extremely jealous!! I'll be in Florida in 7 weeks so I guess I can't complain too much, but it would be nice to get away from here and enjoy some hot weather. (Under an umbrella, covered in a very think layer of sunscreen, with a very fruity girly drink at my side, working on homework. I know how to live it up!)

I find out tomorrow about the raise for next year and what kind of bonus I'll be looking at from work for last year. Hopefully it will be some extra change so that I can buy a new laptop!

I leave for work in about a 1/2 hour and I'm not even dressed yet. It's going to be a very long day...

Sunday morning thoughts...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Since I can't remember the last time that I had time to actually post I thought I should. School has been insane. Statistics is just as bad as I thought it was going to be if not a little worse. Thank goodness I get a two week break because I don't think I could take much more stress at the moment.

This marks the first time in almost 5 years that I won't have a boyfriend at Christmas. Actually, I've been single longer now than I've been in four years with  different relationships. I didn't intend for things to end up this way, but I didn't realize how stressful having a relationship is around the holidays.

I need to find something to do for New Years still....which is about the only sucky thing with being single and not having set plans with someone.

My aunt and uncle were in town yesterday with my cousin Emily. Em just got done with the Psych rotation of her rounds and will be going to do surgery next. She had some interesting stories about drug abusers and mainlining drugs from her time in Detroit.  In addition, the round she had before Psych was  Pediatrics  and apparently there are two children in Detroit named Luscious and Delicious  Tits. And two little boys named Orangejello and Lemonjello.

I'm meeting with my Stats group this morning and then possibly headed over to my parents, or maybe back here to do nothing for a while. I can't wait to be done with school!!

November 14th, 2007

I came home this evening to several messages on my answering machine...one was for me, and the other was quite obviously for someone else.

Message: "Hey baby, when you gonna come and rub up on me.You shore are a pretty ***(something I couldn't make out due to extremely slurred speech) I love it when you sit on my face..." Stopped message and immediately deleted it. Although now I am wishing I would have saved it just in case he gave me a number at the end to call....

Movies

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
[info]scotmoore and I went to see Michael Clayton last night. Frankly, it is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. George Clooney does a fantastic job as Michael, the "janitor" for his law firm. His mentor and good friend has a breakdown in the middle of a deposition. His friend Arthur is the  head lawyer defending an agricultural company in a civil lawsuit with some people that say the company put out a product that killed 498 people. The plot is complex, the people were interesting, the dialogue was quick-paced and kept the pace of the movie from getting too bogged down or too fast. This was not a Bourne movie with constant action and movement, but the character development and plausibility of the situations were very very good.

Scot and I both agreed that it was quite possibly one of the best movies that has come out this year. Clooney should be getting an Oscar nomination of some sort for this movie.

New pic was my Halloween costume...Goth Prom Queen. The black wig freaked some people out during the day...

And [info]scotmoore and I just finished watching a pitiful Gopher game against the Bison of NDSU. NDSU was literally across the river from Concordia and always thought they were hot shit. I totally wanted to see them lose, especially with over half the crowd cheering for them, but it was not to be. Gophers lost by 7 and it should have been by WAY more than that.

I don't know how Concordia did today, they were playing the Tommies, but I'll bet that I'll find out tonight when I visit some of my Cobber friends.

Currently I'm trying to figure out why my college sent me a refund check of over $2000 and have now sent me a bill for the same amount...One would think that they would see that I have not cashed the check yet and just ask me to return it instead of sending a bill asking for the same amount returned. What I really don't get is why they sent me the check in the first place if they were going to bill me for it later. It makes no damn sense.

OK, I'm going to do something with my hair so that I don't have to wear the ball cap all night and head over to the Larters for an excellent evening of movies and see some of my buds I haven't been able to see for a while. I've been assured that my ex will not be attending which makes me breathe much easier. It is just fricken uncomfortable with him there. I am SO HAPPY Jenny came with to the last party and kept me company so that I didn't have to spend time with him when I was there last.

Time for some drugs and away I go!!

Forgive me, I am truly in shock..

I got my grade from Accounting, in which I thought I could possibly get a B, not really expecting anything higher than that after the final, but somehow I pulled out an "A-"!! I simply can't believe that noise. Seriously.

Weekend was great! Went to Red Wing, MN with my girlfriends and wandered about town. (Got honked at by some townie boys...they had to have been in HS which was hilarious to the 4 of us.) Finished buying my mom's Christmas present and now only have to get something for my little sis for her birthday. I feel kind of bad for her, she is the odd one out with her birthday. Mom, Dad and I all have birthdays in April/May and hers is two weeks before Christmas. So while the family all has to buy two presents for her this time of year, she has to buy five between April/May and June. (Mom, me, Dad, Mother's Day, Father's Day)

I also got plenty of sleep this weekend which was highly unusual. I went to bed at 9:30PM on Friday and slept until 7:30 in the morning. I went to bed a little later on Saturday, probably closer to my usual 11PM and slept until 9AM the next day. O am actually feeling refreshed for the workday today.

I think I may have found new glasses, but I will have to set up the appointment and go in to get them. I just wish they weren't that expensive....

Prior journal entry no lie

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
It was a busy weekend. Although it was a lot of fun. My cousin had a beautiful wedding and it was really nice to see all of my cousins I haven't seen in a long time. There are pictures on mySpace should people feel the need to go see them.

I just took a final in Accounting which is why I am unable to write long sentences with correct punctuation and not really trying. I'm too tired to focus on anything right now. I have to do one more thing to finish for class and I will not be sad to see that class go. If I get a B I will be satisfied.

I'm going to bed now...

Quick and dirty

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
This is promising to be a busy weekend and I can only hope that it goes smoothly with all of the fam in town and the like. Uncle Charlie will be flying in tomorrow and my aunt Jane and uncle Mike from WI will be driving in at some point. All three of them will be staying at my parent's house on Saturday night, which I am sure is going to be interesting with one bathroom on the first floor...

I will likely want to come home and likely driving myself and Jenny to the wedding and the reception. I'm just happy Jenny agreed to come with before the family said they were coming. It will be nice to have another single girl to talk to and keep me company for the length of the wedding.

Sunday is going to be family oriented and I am planning on bringing laundry home. I sure Mom won't appreciate it, but I don't know another time to make it there and get everything done. (I can hear it now..."Don't you HAVE washing machines in your building?") Yes, I do, but I don't trust the people here with me not standing over my clothes to watch them. I had clothes stolen out of my laundry in college and I'm still a little edgy about leaving things out...

Monday night should be entertaining, Jenny and I have a date and Wednesday will be my final for Accounting. LORD HELP ME!! Saturday the girls and I will be going to Red Wing to party it up and I know that I have plans on the 20th... My Saturdays are filling up, as are my Wednesday's with class stuff. I'm going to be happy when I am done with the MBA, and I am really happy that I'll be 1/2 way there by the end of this year.

I should probably finish getting ready so that I can make it to work on time...being a supervisor has it's perks but I still have to be there on time and in a good mood!!

Weekend bliss

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
This has been the first weekend in a long time that I didn't have something going every day and I took advantage of that. Friday night I went shopping at Rosedale for several hours. I didn't really need anything, but I wanted to get out and enjoy the sales. Saturday I drove over to my parents house and had lunch with them and spent a little bit of time with them then drove over to the jewelery store and picked up my bracelet which had broken. Drove over to Home Depot and picked up Dad's Christmas present. (Yes, I'm the freak that will start Christmas shopping in June/July if I can. Hey, buying things early and on sale is not a bad idea in my book.)

Then I drove over to the Mall of America, which on a rainy Saturday is usually a bad idea, but got parking right away and had no problems in the mall outside of it being busier than usual. Did some shopping, got Kristen's Christmas present and a few new things for myself. I had to talk myself out of getting another present for my god-daughter. I already have at least three things to give her, and it is really hard not to spoil that kid.

And I did something that I have not done in almost a year, I did not turn on my computer. Not even to check my email. I came home, ate dinner and watched TV. It was one of the most relaxing and refreshing days I have had in a long time.

Today I'll be going to Hell's Kitchen for brunch with Michelle and then heading over for dinner with Mom and Dad. I'll have to find something to do between the two...

I'll be working on homework this morning since I have some left and I didn't want to do it yesterday.

It's kind of humorous that every day that I get up that my symptoms are different. Yesterday I was stuffy, the day before I had a sore throat, today it's a really icky cough; other than that I seem to be OK this morning. Class last night was OK, for the most part. One of our teammates didn't get an email address up and working until yesterday afternoon and then he didn't know where to look to find the questions to answer for class. I have a feeling that I am going to need to do the assignment just in case he decides to drop the class.

Plus I have my own homework for the week that I am going to need to do  for next Wednesday including questions from the text and a paper. While I don't think that this class is more labor intensive than the other classes I STILL DON'T like math.

I have no choice in the matter so I am going to need to stick it out and do my best.

Work has been really busy in the sense that they have me on the phones nearly every day. It's not really a BAD thing, but I can't get anything else done when I am on the phones.

OK, Time to get prepared for the day!

I think I'm coming down with a sinus infection. I didn't turn on the computer yesterday night when I came home from work. I ate some soup, drank some water and was in bed by 9:30 on some Nyquil. I slept all through the night and have been blowing my nose and clearing my throat quite a bit already. I think Kleenex is going to be my friend for the day. In addition, I may have to schedule some time off in the next couple of days to go in to the doctor if I start feeling much worse.

I borrowed the sun glasses from one of my sister's friends. if I could have made the picture bigger I would have added my sister smiling in the background. It's the happiest she looked the whole trip; outside of when she was pointing out baby Jesus' wee-wee in a painting. She's a funny kid that sister of mine.

Surprisingly it was a busy weekend, although I didn't intend it to be. My girlfriend called me out of the blue on Friday and asked if I wanted to come to Hutchinson and spend the night at her future in-laws cabin for the evening. I decided that going would be fun so I packed up the car and drove down there for the night. I was up until 2AM with John and the puppy, Amber crashed out at about 1AM. Then Saturday afternoon Amber and I drove back to St. Paul as she was heading to a party in Minneapolis and I was heading to Acme Comedy Club to see Tom Steffan and some other comics. Had a great time, laughed my ass off.

Came back home and met Amber who did not have as good of a time as I had for the evening. Apparently the people at the party were a little strange and smoked a ton of pot while she was there. Amber was not really having it, so I am glad she came here to crash for the night. We went to brunch on Sunday at the French Meadow bakery which was phenomenal. Seriously good eats yo.

We both really wanted to see Stardust, but the show times were too late considering she had to drive back to Hutch to pick up her fiance; John was stuck at the cabin with no car, a five month old puppy and apparently some aggressive red squirrels. We did do some shopping at Target and Old Navy before she left, and I was able to expand the wardrobe a bit as well.

Went to my parent's home and finished laundry and had dinner with them and watched some British show on PBS that was pretty decent. It's late and I have to make my bed before I can actually go to sleep. In addition, we are not allowed to be casually dressed for the next few days as there are guests in the building doing who knows what. You ever notice that when you are told you CAN'T do something you want to do it more?

Two teammates have already turned in their homework, which means that I will have a much easier time getting the editing done in a reasonable amount of time. YEA!!

OK, need to make bed, put on pajamas, make coffee for the morning and go to bed.

This has been an up and down week. Nothing entirely too exciting outside of Friday night. [info]scotmoore and I went to the Oak Street Cinema to see Clarence in the premiere of a short film. Needless to say, I was incredibly surprised to find my ex boyfriend in the audience and the crap-tacular film his friends had created in the trailers of the short films that were presented.

Just to give a rundown of the movie. 6 friends meet "in the city" for a party. A killer appears and the friends start dying. Consider that the movie was created by a bunch of kids that live in the suburbs that have never actually lived in Minneapolis a day of their lives, and you may begin to understand just how egregious the errors in the movie are. It is two hours of my life that I will never get back and if there were some way to force the ass-clowns that created it to do so I would.

[info]scotmoore and I took off rather quickly after the movie was done, mostly because the gentleman in our row was very obviously having some sort of mental problem that was becoming worse as the movies went on and neither Scot or I wanted to see what was going to happen.

I went to the State Fair yesterday with my girlfriend Michelle and her husband Jason. We had a lovely time, didn't eat as much as I thought we would. (The heat and the malts were rather sustaining.) I went to the video store on my way home and rented Hot Fuzz, the Illusionist, and Stranger than Fiction. I watched Hot Fuzz last night and it was as good as I remembered..

I have assloads of homework that I need to do today and really have no desire to get done. However, I have to finish them today because I have plans Monday night with Michelle, Tuesday with Scot, Wednesday I have class and Thursday I leave for NY to spend some time with my sister!

I'll be back the following Tuesday, but I took Wednesday off from work so that I could do homework when I got home as well as laundry and sleep as needed. Then I'll have a two day work week!!

I can now say that I have played golf in rain. Not an experience I want to replicate for a long time. I was soaked through three levels of clothing. I'm still trying to dry off the jeans I wore yesterday. Basically we got done, had an OK lunch from some Mexican restaurant, and had a prize giveaway. My team kicked some major ass and we came in second, although we were tied for first. How in the hell we managed to come in 3 under is a mystery to me, but it wasn't me carrying the team so I was pleased.

I then came home and was undressed in about two minutes. I don't know that I have every stripped myself of clothing so quickly. Packed up laundry and went to my parents place to use their equipment and spend some time with them. Mom and I went shopping and had been intending to go to the Mall of America, but the crowds were insane. We gave up and drove toward home. Mom and I went to Old Navy, where I picked up two pairs of pants for $4 bucks each! We picked up dinner at Papa Murphey's and rented Shooter.

Mom and Dad finished two bottles of wine with dinner and I a single beer for the evening, although Dad thought I should be drinking more. Not getting enough sleep for two nights in a row and drunk parents was definitely interesting....

Shooter is pretty terrible. Even drunk, my dad didn't like it and commented on the plot holes that a truck could have been driven through..

I have some grocery shopping and I have to get a gift for a friend of mine since I will be celebrating a birthday party with her this evening.

I need to finish the packing list for NY!

Hopefully my teammates will get assignments done by tomorrow so that I can quickly edit the information and get started on the last paper...
